Start-up CarbExplore B.V – established in May 2017 –has the intention to move into Innolab Agrifood in the Innovation Centre of Avebe on Zernike Campus end 2018 or the first half of 2019. The young company is the first tenant to start in the brand new Innolab Agrifood, that opens September 29, 2018. CarbExplore works on the development of so called carbohydrate-active engineered enzymes, that make the manufacture of functional carbohydrates for food, nutrition and nutraceutical applications possible.
Stevan van der Hoek, technician at CarbExplore, explains how important their move to Innolab Agrifood is to their start-up. “It is great to be so close to Avebe in the near future. Avebe after all, is a large player in the field of nutrition. But I also see a lot of opportunities in mutual cooperation with other smaller companies and start-ups in the Innovation Centre and on Campus Groningen.”
